THE PILGRIM (1904) Augustus Saint-Gaudens

In 2000, the Pilgrim received its first major onsite conservation treatment. The extensive treatment included removal of residual wax, repairs, and cleaning of corrosion that was causing the bronze to deteriorate. Patination was applied and the sculpture was coated in a protective wax.
