- Paul Manship's gilded bronze sphere is dedicated to the aviators who died in World War I. The bronze sphere is held by the reclining figure of a woman and adorned with images representing the signs of the zodiac, along with inscriptions of the names of constellations and planets. In 2000, the Aero Memorial received major conservation treatment, including complete re-gilding with gold leaf.
