Description:
Diego de Gardoqui served as Spain's minister to the United States until his death in 1798.  Sculptor Sanguino depicts Gardoqui standing, gesturing towards a document held in his right hand.  The artwork was received as a gift to the City of Philadelphia from the Spanish government in 1976.
