- In 1976, the City of Philadelphia displayed the Love statue on temporary loan from Robert Indiana for the City's Bicentennial. The artwork was ultimately purchased by F. Eugene Dixon and given as a gift to the City of Philadelphia. The stainless steel pedestal was added at a later date.
