- John Rogers modeled the bronze equestrian statue of Major General John Fulton Reynolds dressed in military attire with his right arm outstretched as if gesturing forward in battle. Reynolds was born in 1820 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His life was ended in 1863 when he was fatally wounded on the battlefield at Gettysburg.
