Description:
Located just off of Kelly Drive near the Azalea Garden of the Philadlephia Museum of Art, the sculpture of Silenus and the Infant Bacchus can been seen around plantings. Silenus is depicted leaning on a tree stump and holding the baby Bacchus who reaches towards his face. Silenus was one of the satyrs and the faithful companion and tutor of the wine god Dionysius (or Bacchus.)
